Local Confectionery from Mishima, Shizuoka

From the time of the Kamakura shogunate, Sakamono Vegetables have continued to captivate people with their unique appeal. Through sweets packed with their full deliciousness, we aim to share the charm of Mishima.

One of the most important elements in growing delicious vegetables is the soil. Mishima’s Sakamono Vegetables are nurtured in some of Japan’s finest soil, enriched by the blessings of Mt. Fuji and Mt. Hakone. True to their name, these vegetables are grown on slopes—with inclines of over 10 degrees. Because large machinery cannot be used, most of the farming work is still done by hand.

We believe that these two essential elements—soil and hands—are also deeply connected to the art of confectionery making.

"Chisan Tasho" — Local Production for External Sharing

This relatively new phrase refers to the idea of creating products using local ingredients and sharing them beyond the region, helping more people discover the unique appeal of that area.

The precious Sakamono Vegetables, cultivated by Mishima’s farmers, are transformed by our confectioners into delightful sweets for visitors to enjoy. Through their taste, we hope people will feel the essence of Mishima and carry that memory with them.

This is the kind of chisan tasho—where everyone can feel joy—that we strive to achieve. We invite you to follow the new journey of Sakamono Vegetable Confectionery Shop.
