Izu Souvenir: Hyakkafu

An homage to Mokutaro Kinoshita, a literary figure and physician from Ito. Inspired by his flower illustration collection “Hyakkafu”, this sweet is shaped using traditional hand-carved wooden molds to represent seasonal flowers.

Camellia, plum, cherry blossom, mandarin orange flower, clematis, and cosmos—the shapes change with the seasons. A creamy milk bean paste made from fresh cream, butter, and mascarpone is wrapped in a soft, vanilla-flavored dough and gently baked. The packaging is adorned with Mokutaro’s elegant floral illustrations, arranged like a bouquet.

A delicately flavored “milk manju” shaped like the flowers of the season.
